November 27, 2004

A snowstorm is forecast for tonight so Aimee’s sister begins their long drive home.  Her brother has a planned church activity, so Aimee and I steal away to Golden, CO to take the Coor’s brewery tour.  There is a long line to get in. We are surprised how many other people had this same idea on a cold Thanksgiving weekend.  After waiting a few minutes they close down the tour temporarily for some plant safety reason.

To kill time we walk into Golden’s downtown.  It is a cute “Old West” town.  Golden was the first capital of Colorado and boomed during Colorado’s gold rush.  Hence the name.  We also walk by the Colorado School of Mines, but their Geology Museum is closed for the holiday.

Back at the brewery we make it in for the tour.  This brewery claims to be the largest in the world. They have a very nice tour and we really enjoy the tasting area at the end.
