This morning we took the Las Brisas hotel shuttle down to the hotel’s private beach. Since this part of Acapulco is rocky, there is no sand but a very large concrete deck and a couple pools. On the drive down we see some very nice houses built on the hillside. I am guessing the wealthy of Mexico City have houses here, as it is only a 4-5 hour drive. We decide we like sunbathing around our own pool so we don’t spend much time there.
The hotel has several signature pink jeeps to take us up and down the hilly property. But since we need the exercise we don’t use them. We do take advantage of the small health club near the office several times. We also make use of the tennis courts. They are at the crest of the hill and provide beautiful vistas while playing.
A couple times we took a taxi into downtown Acapulco for dinner. Aimee and I have been studying Spanish off and on and we practice on the poor cab driver. Unfortunately it is an amusing exercise. I say something in Spanish and the driver responds quickly. Aimee has to translate for me because she has a better ear for language. After thinking a minute I speak another phrase. We may never make it to dinner at this rate!
One night after dinner, we head over to La Quebrada again to watch the cliff divers do their show at night. This time they make the leap holding flaming torches. Cool!
