Since we made the decision to move from Chicago, we have a new urgency to see some of the local attractions on our list. Today we took the day off and drove to the Field Museum of Natural History to see Sue the dinosaur. She is the largest, most complete, and best-preserved T-Rex ever found. She is a very young 67 million year old with a troubled past. She was discovered in 1990 by the Black Hills Institute. But the ownership was disputed and the fossil seized by the FBI. After a lengthy legal battle, the court decided the Indian owner could renege on the contract and reclaim her. The Field Museum paid a staggering $8 million for Sue at auction.
